Its likely Ford, and they have likely scooped up a lot of other places in the area.

No one likes the owner of the Ambassador Bridge and the train station (Moroun) so this is good news for Corktown. Finally something will happen with the building.

The old Detroit school book depository building across the street and some vacant lots close to !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! also switched owners recently.

All seem to currently be in limbo by holding LLCs. I wonder if Ford has a press conference set up for any time soon.

It would be nice if they restore it, or at least the passenger spaces, it’s easy to imagine them demolishing the office building rather than trying to save it (even building a new look-alike building would presumably save money and result in a more functional space).

Of course it would be nice if it were restored to use as train station, but while Amtrak has been improving speed along the Chicago-Detroit route, it’s still nowhere near being good enough to support a station of that size.

I can’t imagine them or any one else destroying it. Its still structurally sound and the old owner was hoarding it, waiting for a big pay out. Thats why its big news, at least for locals.

I’d love for it to just get a blue oval stuck on the top. Very curious to how much they actually change it.

Best use this property has had since it was a train station.

The office building is the main attraction. Its structurally sound, and the floors are basically an empty shell that can be built out how ever they want (much of it was never actually finished inside in the first place).
